that was a pretty bad call but from an angle it does look like richards tripped kovy so i can see why a whistle blew

I don't think it was bad, the stick and the elbow was out. And this from a an outside standpoint, to me it looked like tripping. There was a bit of a dive too, though.

yeah, but that call could have been easily avoided on richards part, he didn't have to go so low down, but his stick was in between his legs, so i can see how the refs called that

They're not actually touching. Look at the Oilers' player's helmet. It's behind May's. It's just the angle which the picture is taken at, makes it look like they're kissing.
Still pretty funny though.
