Next year will be 100 in there History. What are some of the things that they have to do to get the cup to canada and where it belongs.
Here are my top two things they need to do.
1. You guys have to sign Mark Streit. You guys can not leave his guy go for nothing. I love players that can player that two position.
2. Sign a top 10 Forward: I say that a top 10 forward will come to montreal this winter since how good they were this year. It may change there mind. How knows. Hossa will be a great fit for the habs and the top line with Saku!!!
What do you guys think

I agree, signing a high-ranked Forward in July should be their priority. Montreal showed great talent offensively this year, and another skilled forward would only make this team more powerful and likely to bring home a championship for their centennial.
Obviously, signing Streit is also important, and signing AKost is another big deal too. (He's a restricted free agent, but nonetheless...)

I agree, Streit and Akost are two team priorities. And a top forward would be a very big contribution to their offensive capabilities. Hossa would be a great candidate for the Montreal's 100th season. And I'm sure a great forward would fill that spot that Saku's line has been missing all season.

yes if they can just keep the same team together for 2 to 3 years. They are find in the 2 goalies that they have. Defense is great and I have nothing wrong with the forwards. So if we can not get a player in the free agrent market I'm still happy with the team that we have plus we have great young players that are waiting to make the jump to the NHL.

I don't think I'll be mad if they don't sign a good free agent, but I'll definitely be disappointed.

i not sure if they'll be able to sign a top ten offence, hossa will probably staying with pittsburg, due to his great post-season with the pens, but i think montreal will get another top 5 ranking season in the east next year. i don't know about the division title, it's very possible but ottawa could take it, but im thinking that montreal will have a better season next year.

I don't know about Hossa staying with Pittsburgh, their salary cap is going to be tight...

there is no way that Hossa will stay in Pittsburgh. They got to sign Malkin,Fleury,Staal and more.. I would sign those players before Hosssa. IN my view

Same here. Malkin and Fleury are definite must-signs, and Staal wouldn't be a waste of cash either, so that barely leaves any room for signing Hossa.

Pretty much, that's basically what every team who tried to get him at the deadline went for it for...

yeah, i donno...i think that if they sign hossa it would be a pretty smart move, team wise...but if the cap space is that much of an issue, then im sure they'll get rid of some other player who's contract has run out, and he's not a good player

There's no doubt that if they can, they should, but that's the problem: they won't be able to keep up with what other teams with more cap space will offer him.

Yah, but Hossa is looking for a long term contract. Obviously not that long considering hes still pretty old, but 3-4 years probably would satisfy him. So taking that into consideration, and taking that he is an all star player. Signing him for 3-4 years would cost quite a bit, and like you guys said malkin, fleury are deffinate musts. Staal isnt such a bad idea, and so on. So i personaly think Hossa is gone. And i think there is a deffinate possibility of him comming to montreal, we are looking for a player like him, we have the cash to spend on a few year deal. Its deffinatly not out of the question.
