Why were the Caps (the favorites in their series, by far) upset by the Flyers? What did they do wrong?

well for starters, Ovechkin only had 3 goals on the whole series, but it was only his first play-off appearance.

That's true. The Caps suffer terribly when Ovechkin is properly neutralized. Kudos to the Flyers, though; holding in Ovechkin one game is hard, never mind an entire series.

I'm excited to see how the Caps will come out next year, though. Nylander will be back and everything. They just need a Stud Defensemen and they'll be awesome.

Why were the Caps (the favorites in their series, by far) upset by the Flyers? What did they do wrong? Well i have to say Marty Biron, Kimmon Timonen and Braydon Cobourn were the reasons why the flyers were able to upset the Caps and move on. Yes they had a lot of guys do different things on offense but these three guys were awesome from go. Cobourn, a young defenseman who the flyers got for almost nothing (Alexei Zhitnik) last year, was huge in stopping Ovechkin. Timonen, who in my opinion is the most underrated defenseman in the NHL played minute to minute with Ovechkin and was in his face whenever Cobourn wasn't. Biron, who was in his first playoff series as a starter, showed that he is a number one goalie and demanded the respect he has been denied for the entire season. He was incredible in net and really made some stellar saves to help the flyers win the series.

Yeah, I agree with what you said. But actually, I think you're wrong about Timmonen being underrated; most people know that he's an extremely solid defenseman. In my opinion, Cobourn is more underrated than Kimmo. And yes, Biron was solid in that series, and Huet was pretty average. Especially on the series winning goal, I have no idea where he thought the puck went...

Timonen: I know that now but when he came here most of philly didn't understand why people made sucha big deal, in the west he was a big deal but if you didn't really pay attention he just got swept under the rug.
Cobourn: Yes but thats just because he is having such a tremendous season as just a 3rd or 4th year player and this is his first season like this.
GWG: The way he positioned his pads the puck should have shot off into the corner a great move by Huet but Lupul knocked the puck out of the air. Which is why Huet couldn't figure out where the puck went. Then Lupul took his time and now were here Game 3 in philly.

Ah OK, that makes sense for the game winner. Thanks for clearing that up.

I find that happens to Huet so much, though. In Montreal I noticed that: he loses the puck from view a lot. Maybe he's just unlucky, I don't know.

Yeah i mean he really did make a nice save and a good play to try and kick it to the corner but Lupul was able to get his stick on it. Luck is never a bad thing, unless it's bad luck.
