What a performance against Montreal.
I've heard talk that Philly was thinking of releasing him as an UFA.
Do you think they'll change their mind after that spectacular series for him?

They may or may not. I wouldnt see why they would have wanted to in the first place. He had a good season recording 50 points. As for the season before he only recorded 28. Now not to mention hes having a very good playoff. I think they will want to try signing him again.

The thing with Umberger was he came into the league alongside Carter and Richards and they were all expected to perform at the same level. For the first season Carter played awesome, Richards did ok and Umberger was a non factor. The next year Richards was a star, Umber was ok and Carter sucked. This year Richards was an all-star, Carter was a star and Umberger was still ok. See it's tough to compare these three guys because they play differently but they always wil because they came in together. I think they will sign him, if for no better reason than his playoff clutchness.

umburger has shown alot of improvment thoughout the second round recording 8 goals, after that i don't see any reason why they wouldn't resign him, unless he scores like 4 goals against his own team against pittsburg

Heheh, yeah. Personally, I kind of think they'll sign him only if he has a good end to the playoffs. I doubt Philly will give him a new contract for one good series.

It depends on how the rest of the team plays to, and how the Pens play.

well, the pens were pretty shooken up by the rangers, i don't know how the series will go, the flyers were 3-5 against the pens, but that series could have been tied if the pens didn't throw the last game.

Well, he hasn't played too bad so far this series, but the team in general has been outshone.
