The way I see it is, Chicago weren't really supposed to beat, well not so much Calgary, because of their injuries, but Vancouver. Chicago's young and most of them lack experience in the play-offs which is really one of the biggest weaknesses going into the play-offs. I think all you Habs fans will agree with me if you remember last year. But seeing Chicago beat teams like Calgary and Vancouver has convinced me that they can probably go all the way.
Carolina beat New Jersey and Boston...'nuff said.

The Flames and Canucks are two very good teams, but the Red Wings are not even just on another level, they are in an entirely different dimension.
As for the Hurricanes I kind of just expect them to run out of steam. They've played 14 playoff games in two rounds already and the key to their success is their work ethic. They play hard and rough and they have had long series and I think it might catch up to them.

The Flames and Canucks are two very good teams, but the Red Wings are not even just on another level, they are in an entirely different dimension. This is true, Detroit is better than both of those teams. But Detroit's weakness is Ozzy. He's just not good enough. Now I would have said the same thing about Chicago, but Khabi has been playing amazing. I think Chicago can use their speed to beat the Red Wings and the Red Wings will use their depth to make this a series. The the Hawks know that Detroit is better. They're gonna come out strong.

Carson will confirm that my prediction prior to this series starting was Detroit in 7. I told him that when the conference finals had just finished when we were playing ball hockey.

Predictions I will probably have to modify my playoff predictions depending on standings finish, but with these standings I predict these results.
Washington Pitsburg Buffalo New Jersey Montreal Philidelphia Ottawa NYR
Boston
------------------
San Jose Chicago Vancouver Los Angeles Phoenix Colorado St-Louis Detroit
Nashville
The blues have 5 games vs Nashville/Detroit. 3 vs NSH 2 vs DET as well Calgary has a very tough schedule. Doupt they'll pull through.
--------------------
Washington in 4 Pitsburg in 4 Buffalo in 7 New Jersey in 6
Chicago in 7 Vancouver in 4 Phoenix in 6 Detroit in 5
--------------------
Washington in 7 Pitsburg in 5
Chicago in 5 Vancouver in 5
--------------------
Washington in 7 Chicago in 6
--------------------
Washington in 7
(I originally put chicago, but I actually washington might get it done this year especially vs the Chicago goaltending :S).
