Do you still consider him one of the top 5 players in the league?

He finished 5th in the league for points with 96 this season. He got 114 points last season, finishing 2nd in the league behind Crosby's 120. The year before that, he lead the league with 125 points.

I think he may be loseing his edge. But none the less, I do think he is one of the top players in the league for sure, but he is getting old, and i think he will be replaced by the young superstars such as Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin possibly.

not any more for me. He always has a great season then when playoff time comes he isn't the same player in my view.

I still think he is one of the best playmakers in the league. Like, he makes everyone around him so much better.

Like I said, in my opinion, he's still one of the best playmakers in the league. He's got incredible vision.

Oh yah he deffinatly has amazing vision when it comes to makeing a play. But like snoop said, when it comes playoff time, its as if his gears are rusty and worn out. He just doesnt tick as well, if you get what i mean. But none the less, he is a big part for the reason his team has made it where it has.

I think you're right, he never seems to shine as much during the post-season.

i think that going to san jose kinda worsened him, when he was on boston he was better than everyone, so he stood out more, but now that he's on san jose he has Marleau and Cheechoo ect. to compete with.

I don't think it made him worse, he probably just doesn't stand out as much since other players are raking in points as well.

yah, exactly if anything SJ should have helped him improve his skills. I think though, cheecho and marleau are the type of players who like the attention as is thornton. So i think theres a little less chemastry then there could be if thornton wasnt there or if cheecho whasnt there. Any ways just what i think.
