www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/254073.htmlAgain a french article that speaks of Lecavalier probably singing a very long-term deal with Tampa, but there's a little part about the Kings which I found particularly interesting and which I'll translate for you. "RDS has been informed that the Kings would be interested in trading their first round pick, second overall for friday's draft.
The Kings offered their first round pick along with forward Mike Cammalleri to the Lightning in return for the first overall pick, and the same offer to the Senators in return for Jason Spezza.
The Ottawa Sun also reports that the Kings offered the same package to the Penguins, but Pittsburgh refused to send Evgeni Malkin back the other way."Pretty interesting, I find.

NO....NOT SPEZZA!
what's a second pick overall gonna do for ottawa?...answer: nothing, if this is true then i would be royally pissed off a murray for trading away one of my favorite sens, and what is spezza gonna do for the kings...answer: NOTHING!, he'll be too good for them, a one man show, and spezza's not gonna get the points he got with Sens that he did with the Kings...spezza's not gonna want to go there.
Murray wouldn't have signed that huge contract with spezza last year if he didn't want to keep him...in my opinion this is a crappy offer to ottawa. But the thing is, why would the kings offer this? they NEED those drafts, they have so many options, for all they know they could be drafting another Jason Spezza or another Evgeni Malkin, they're not being very smart. Hopefully this is just a rumor.

Actually, I don't agree with this part. A one man show? Come on, there are better players offensively in Los Angeles than Spezza, like Kopitar and Frolov. I know you're probably gonna go check stats and their points won't compare to Spezza's, but they're also younger and have never been on a line with Heatley and Alfredsson , which makes it considerably easier to rack up points. And as for not wanting to go, he doesn't have a No-Trade Clause, so that's not his decision. I agree with this in a way, but I think their logic is that if they trade it away, they're getting back a player they're sure about. Drafting is always uncertain as to whether it's going to work out or not.

ok...so not a one man show, but he's gonna be there and not have heatlie and alfe beside him and he's gonna have a mental breakdown because he's gonna have to be a guy who scores goals as opposed to setting up the big guns, which the kings don't nessisarily have. but maybe if spezza goes to the kings that they would have a boost in goal for, you have to admit, Heatlie would not have had 50 goals two years in a row with out spezza.
...this is all not true. in an interview during the entry draft Murray said in a interview after being asked about spezza
Quote: "Spezza will be a part of this team"
and i think this is murray who said that next year that spezza's no trade clause goes to affect next year.

Yeah, well all of this is just speculation. Turns out they didn't trade their pick and chose Drew Doughty, which I think is the best move they could've made.
