Gaborik's Future with Minnesota Unclear

Sniper Marian Gaborik likes playing in Minnesota but it sounds like he's not sure how long will suit up for the Wild.
According to the Star Tribune, Gaborik has not yet decided whether to sign an extension with the Wild or become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
"I like it here, I am willing to stay here, but I also know what my options are if we won't agree on the terms," Gaborik told the Star Tribune. "I'm not saying I'm leaving. I'm not saying I'm staying. I'm saying I have one year left on my contract."
The report indicates the Wild are doing their best to sign Gaborik before the season opener on October 11.
The 26-year-old Gaborik, who scored 42 goals and added 41 assists for 83 points, is slated to make $7.5 million this season. Currently, Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin is the highest paid player in the league with an average salary of $9.538 million per season.
While the Wild have reportedly offered Gaborik the richest, longest contract in franchise history, assistant general manager Tom Lynn described negotiations as "complicated" as the two sides try to agree on salary and term. But Wild general manager Doug Risebrough told the Star Tribune he is not willing to offer Gaborik the maximum contract of $11.26 million allowable for individuals under this year's salary cap.
"I'm willing to stay, but it depends on what kind of deal they're going to propose," Gaborik told the Star Tribune. "I had a good discussion with Doug and Tom [last month in Slovakia]. They explained how they want to go forward. Of course, I want to win. If it's here, I would love that, but who knows what's going to happen."
