ZURICH -- Alex Radulov isn't going anywhere for the time being.
He's one of six players having his contract investigated by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Radulov signed with the Russian team Ufa last week even though he has one year remaining on his deal with the NHL's Nashville Predators.
Nikita Filatov, Viktor Tikhonov, Jason Krog, Tomas Mojzis and Fedor Fedorov are also having contracts examined regarding transfers to or from Russia.
The IIHF has set a July 31 deadline for all involved parties to submit documentation for review.
"We hope that this can be resolved amicably and in a timely manner," IIHF president Rene Fasel said Friday. "It is unfortunate that we are already facing such difficulties after the progress that was made last week.
"I am hoping that all sides can come to a solution."
There is currently no formal transfer deal in place between Russia's new Continental Hockey League -- known as the KHL -- and the NHL, although the sides met recently and came to an understanding that they would respect each other's contracts.
While under investigation, the players will be suspended from international transfers and competitions.
Filatov and Tikhonov were each selected in the first round of the recent NHL draft and have signed contracts with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Phoenix Coyotes, respectively. Their Russian teams claim they still have deals with those players.
Krog agreed to a contract with the Vancouver Canucks earlier this month after reportedly agreeing to terms with a Russian team.
Mojzis played in Russia last season and signed with the Minnesota Wild this summer.
