There has been rumors of the fans, the Habs fans to be more specific, using a program called "greasemonkey" to automaticly vote for thier players over and over again. This Program was banned by the NHL, it is illegal voting.
Now, I was sent a link of a Habs forum, and there was discussion about the All-Star game. I saw two people in that forum post instructions on how to install and work "greasemonkey". I don't know if thier instructions worked, I didn't try them. But what I know is that "greasemonkey" is a real program.
For the record im not saying this is true. I read about this in an article. Accually a long time ago. And I just saw the link to the Habs Forum today, I wasn't really shocked to see those instructions.
So do you guys think this is true?
Do you think that all 6 of those Habs players deserve to be in the All-Star game?
Keep in mind that those Habs players are passing players like Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin and Semin. By ALOT!. The NHL make you write in a code every time you vote now.
And they definetly didn't take back all those votes!
But like I said this could only be a rumor.

They calculated the automatic votes through IP address searches and it came out to approximately 15-20% of the votes for each player. They already removed those, and look how far ahead the players still are, in real votes.
It's not a question of who deserves to be there. It's a question of popularity. It's a flawed system, but hey, that's how it works.
If the All-Star game was in Toronto, you can bet the top 6 would be Maple Leafs.

that doesn't shock me at all. I think that there should be no voting for the all star games

so they took the votes away??
and I agree with Snoopy, It should be completly up to the coaches and/or GMs to decide who gets to go in.
or, even fan reprentives from all over north america to vote, like 50 people from all over Canada and the U.S. enter a contest or something, and the winners get to decide who gets into the All-Star game.
just brainstorming

I'm glad i found this because i was about to make a thread of my own about this.
I can't believe people think it is alright that because the all star game is in your town it's a good idea to ruin the game and vote all your (very nondeserving) starters into the game. It's BS but like VD said it's a flawed system. Thankfully the voters have started to smarten up and are finally voting two players who deserve to be there but for bad reasons. Malkin and Crosby are leading the vote getters now for forwards and they should. But in the run is other penguins who just deserve to be there Why? because the pittsburgh fans really didn't want to a see an all canadein all star game and who can blame them, the west would kill them. I voted this year unlike any other because i have lost respect for the Canadeins and the NHL for the simple fact that they are ruining an already bad game.

In our defense, the Penguins fans aren't any better. Voting in Gonchar and Whitney, do they deserve tobe there? No, because *I* have just as many points as both of them combined. Whitney has played one game, and Gonchar none.
And regardless of if either are the most deserving, I honestly don't think Fleury deserves to be there over Price, and I don't think anyone here are going to argue that.

I'm sorry, i didn't explain myself right it looks like i condone what pitt fans are doing. I was fine with everything those fans did with malkin and crosby because they DESERVE to be there. When i saw the defenseman and goalie votes was when i realized there was no inteligence in pittsburgh. Yes Price is more deserving the Fleury but so are a lot of goalies who won't get a chance due to this ridiculous voting drama.
