it's definetly benefitial for montreal, but they offered way too much for him. I would have gave 2nd round max, maybe a 4th or 5th round with that. Don't forget that this is the same Mathieu Schneider that was waived by the Ducks earlier this season.

he wasn't not waived he got traded. to make room for Bobby Ryan.

Schneider was indeed placed on waivers a while back, but the Canadiens had no cap space to make an aquisition like that at the time. With Lang placed on LTIR, the cap space was available.
