Good.
Now hopefully we won't get new lines every game, and a defensive system imposed on our fast offensive team.

The players won. The big babies. I dont like this move at all. Maybe they wouldn't have hated him so much if they wouldn't of had new linemates every night? Not to mention his system which allowed teams like Colorado and Ottawa to get 50 shots on us. No.

still the players won. When you see teams like Edmonton and Buffalo having the same coach for 10 years even tho they went on a losing streak this year they kept the same coach. Bob should had give Carbo a chance. When you look at it Bob is the one that should had got canned. How many years now he always says I'm going to try and get a top player too help the team out of the drive to the playoffs. Um...... I can not come out with a player.
I like this when people dont agree with another people:)

I'm sure you just forgot this, but Kovalev was a deadline acquisition for 2004's playoff push.
Also, I don't know if either Edmonton or Buffalo has even had a lineup as good as Montreal's this year. And the seasons where Buffalo and Edmonton DID have a good lineup, they each went to the conference finals or Stanley Cup finals. With a lineup like Montreal's this season, we should expect the same thing.
Carbonneau's system wasn't working, and he failed to adjust. It worked last year and that's fine, but it stopped working and you have to be able to fix it. The players didn't really like him, and he didn't communicate with him.
He was an average coach at best. Not horrible, but definitely not great either.

I guess we are not going to agree on this topic VD lol. Bob should had give him a chance. Now he is going to do like all of the EX coaches that was with Montreal. Move on to another team and make else all wonder why didn't Montreal give him a chance. Bob is starting to be like Brian Murrary of Ottawa firing coaches left and right. Bob needs to realise that he has change things up with this old players how long has the same players been on the same team? The best thing that Montreal can do is FIRED BOB TOO. He has done nothing great in Montreal. The only thing that he did right was to draft Carey Price thats it. another thing Bob sends ALex home for a break. Comes back and plays one good game vs Ottawa after that he back to the same old Alex. The smart thing to do is not to sign him. I will bet you a surlpee that Bob is going to sign him.

I'm sorry Snoopy, but I'm going to have to disagree again.
Unless Kovy takes a major pay cut, I'm sure he won't be back. Not even for the same amount he's making now. Maybe if he accepts less than 3 million, and very short term.
Same goes for Koivu.
Because Gainey is really high on the prospects he's drafted. He will not let Alex Kovalev take the place of a good young player he drafted.

i love the way the habs played last night. wow they give all there heart out againts the worst team in the league. they way they played they really deserve a playoff spot. I would rather see Ottawa in the playoffs then Montreal. I was also happy to see the fans boo there team. The only player that play to win was Price. Also what a powerplay when New York was down 2 man for a full 2 minutes. Boy they really made me jump off the couch with all those passing and then going back in there own zone to get the puck.

Well is been 7 games since Bob has been the coach. I find that they are playing worst then when they fired Carbo. When they are playing they are not showing any heart out there. Its really making me mad how Ottawa is playing better then Montreal. (Sorry Carson I had to put that in there).
Tonight there playing a better second period but My guess is by thrusday its going to be the same old Montreal team

Its really making me mad how Ottawa is playing better then Montreal. (Sorry Carson I had to put that in there). well, it's not only montreal...Ottawa is playing better than every team right now lol. sorry, just had to say that. But yeah i saw some change last night. If im not mistaken they had Kovalev-Koivu-Tanguay as a line last night? and they were absolutely stellar. Right now, I can only hope that Montreal gets thier post-Carbonneau habits back and that Florida gets thier pre-2008/2009 season habits back.

I can't believe you still haven't given up on the playoffs. Unbelievable. Montreal and Florida will make the playoffs, the Rangers will come in 9th and the Senators in 10th. That's what I see happening.

Uh, what?
They don't need 97 points to make the playoffs.
They would probably be okay with something like 5-3-1, and probably even 5-4.
And I didn't think Florida would lose tonight. That's a tough one for them.
