In the end, I think the Islanders are the big winners. 1st and 16th overall. not bad at all.
I didn't like Montreal's pick, I think they felt obliged to pick LeBlanc because he was the best player from the Montreal area. They (like alot of other teams) could have easily picked Jordan Shroeder, who is a center like LeBlanc and was available, but they chose Leblanc, I just don't get the logic in it.
It's weird how guys like Schroeder and Moore who were projected to be in the top 10 wound up being picked in the 20s.
I wanted Kadri in Ottawa, but we got Cowen, Im glad, but I wanted a forward. Also, Cowen was projected to be in the top 5 before an injury, so i guess that's pretty good.

This coming from someone who hates the French bias in Montreal - I absolutely loved the Leblanc pick, and I was hoping he would be the one they picked. Before you call them out, have you seen him play? He's an incredible skater and so fun to watch. If his name was Lewis White from Michigan, or Ladislav Leblov from Moscow, I would've still picked him there. I haven't been a big fan of Schroeder, and we really needed a center badly. Plus Bob McKenzie said that he thinks Leblanc will be the steal of the draft.

I get it now. I also see how Shroeder was picked so late. He's not as skilled as I though. I take it back, Leblanc was a good choice.
