I don't know if anybody caught this last night, but there was a scrimmage game broadcasted live from Calgary last night between Team Canada Red and Team Canada White. They played a full 60 minute game, and followed up with a shootout that every player participated in. My thoughts on the game: A lot of the players seemed flat-out rusty. Seabrook, Spezza and Lucic were noticeably bad. Crosby, Heatley, Nash, and Richards all played very well. I also liked St. Louis, Marleau, Carter and Doan. All three Staal's played decently as well. Thornton and Lecavalier were pretty invisible in my opinion. Not bad, not outstandingly good either. As for the goalies, Luongo was especially sensational. Brodeur was excellent as well. Fleury and Ward were alright, and Mason looked shaky. Just thought I'd let you guys know how that went.

Yeah I watched it. Heatley was booed so bad. Then the crowd went nuts when he scored the shoot-out goal. That was weird. Mason looked really shakey, But he's young so I wasn't expecting much from him anyways.
I noticed alot of debating in the chat room about who would be the third goalie. Obviously Brodeur and Luongo are locks. But between Ward, Fleury and Mason there was alot of debating. I'd go with Ward, I thikn he's the better of the 3.
I was really good to watch hockey again. I even excited for the pre-season.

Personally, I would pick Ward, but I would be happy with either him or Fleury. I think whoever has the best start of the season will get picked between the two. I don't see Mason making the team just yet.
But yeah, it was nice to watch some hockey in August. Now I'm looking forward to the 17th for the beginning of the Habs' preseason.
