Ottawa gets a rental in Matt Cullen for Alex Picard and a 2nd round pick in 2010.
I really love this trade can't stand Picard so seeing him leave for a guiy who would be 4th on our team in points is pretty sweet. On top of that, we have 2 2nds this draft.
Cheechoo cleared waivers today and will play for Binghampton Tomorrow night.

Moved this here.
I thought it was a pretty good trade for Ottawa. I was surprised to see Cheechoo get waived though. Did the Sens need cap space?

Yes, Ottawa had barely .5mil to spare and then they went over with the Cullen trade, so they waived the contract that seemed to be the most unfitting. That being Cheechoo's 3.5mil.
I love this trade though, I hate Picard. I'm really happy that he is gone. Cheechoo too, good guy, worked hard...But the guy sucks at hockey now. We had to get rid of somebody too with Cullen we would have had 3 extra forwards, with Cheech gone that means there's only one healthy sctratch (Donovan) and when Foligno comes back there will be 2 healthy scratches (Donovan, Winchester or Shannon IMO)

Worth ethic is valuable, but that price tag is high for a player who has become a 4th liner.

This is a good trade for ottawa it adds depth up the middle. I think Ottawa won the trade by a lot. Cheechoo never really did much offensively, hard to believe he scored 56 goals few seasons back. Cullen is a top 6 forward and also adds playoff experience.

He seemed promising in his play last season, but he's having a really bad year this season according to most Ottawa fans. I don't know what happened, but I think you could be right.

but do you remember the last d-men they sent to carlinoa, he is doing a pretty good job there CORVO!! Seriously though Picard is nowhere near the offensive threat that Corvo is. Not to mention I even think Corvo has the edge defensively...yeah....even Corvo.
