The New & Improved NHF!
About ten years ago, while I was still in high school, I started this forum so me and my friends could discuss hockey together along with equally passionate strangers year round, and over the next two years or so it grew into a small but active and tight-knit community. Over time, the activity level dropped and by 2011 regular posts were no longer being made. However, I know myself and some of the old posters still frequent the more popular hockey forums and are still die-hard hockey fans, and I miss being able to discuss the world's greatest game with a smaller community, so I've decided to bring the forum back from the grave!
Being as the off-season is just around the corner, the plan is to slowly wind the forum's activity back up in time for the 2018-19 season. As the boards have basically been dead for seven years, a lot has changed both with how the forum works and in the hockey world! For the information of potential returning old members and new posters alike, here are some of the changes that have taken place:
CLEAN SLATE
- So much has happened in the hockey world since the forum last received regular postings. That's why I've decided to move all the old threads, thousands of posts worth, into a read-only section of the forum. While the old threads are filled with interesting discussions, it didn't feel right having them mixed in with threads from nearly a decade later. The old threads are still available for viewing.
- The forum had many old accounts with zero posts and no modifications made to the profile, most of which were deleted.
- Many spam accounts were also deleted
FORUM REMODELING
- The forum has a new name and a more modern and simple look & feel (including upgrade to ProBoards v5)
- New, more simple board layout
- Certain boards have been removed, some have been added, and some have been combined.
- Added clickable logos back to the main page which link to the associated team board.
- New member rankings
- Hopefully more new features to come!
With all that being said, new & old members alike, welcome to the new NHF, and let the hockey talk begin!
