I missed the end, who won?
By Vodka's reaction I'm assuming Washington.

Tie at the moment, going into OT. It was a close Pens win at the time. And Nicky was overdue for a goal.

Mmhmm. Pens were all over the Caps for a vast majority of the game. Hopefully this will wake my boys up.
Once again, Varlamov was godly... despite the loss. Man I love this kid.

Malkin finally woke up, yeah. I suppose it's a fair exchange for us shutting down Crosby surprisingly well tonight.
Varly I have no worries about in keeping us in the game. He's done it stupendously since stepping in. It's our D-men (aside from Jurcina and Erskine) that need to wake up the most. Erskine needs to get better while I'm at it. His physical presence is sorely missed, though Sloan has done a great job stepping up. We just can't rely on Varly the whole time, as we have been.
Green needs to either sit a bit or play forward for a while. He's been worthless for just about all the playoffs. Watch it be another horror story though, like last year- He'll have either been hurt and on pain killers for the past month (a la Ovie) or have something broken that no one knows about (a la Morrisonn's jaw).
Feds being injured worries me, even if he still played after. I think we've had more than enough injuries these past two years. :/
Tonight's refs need to be shot. Or be set upon by Jurcina at full rage strength.

Yeah, I don't see how Federov got the injury. I saw the hit. But was it a stick that jabbed him in the ribs or something?
Tough loss for the Caps. Better luck next game.

Yeah. Stick was positioned just right to nail him in the chest. His wrist may or may not have gotten twisted somehow as well, but I can't stomach myself to bring myself to pull up the TiVo to listen to those announcers again.
Maybe after work tomorrow, when I'm more sober.
And, on a bizarre note, the Hershey Bears lost to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 OT loss tonight. This was also after they had been leading the series 2-0.

I agree Green has been invisible through the whole playoffs i find just 1 goal unless im wrong. But he needs to step it up, sorry to say but their d is their weakness.

It's no secret that the Caps' D is very average. Green himself is far from anything special in his own zone, which is why I was against him being nominated for the Norris. Scoring goals does not make you a good defenseman.
Anyways, looks like the Pens are going to make a series out of this. Next game is crucial for both teams.

Defense is Washington's Achilles heel. Goaltending would be to, but Varlamov seems to be justifying his role pretty well.

Yep. One goal is all he's done. And a bajillion giveaways and bad plays. Thus my suspicion he's hurt/sicker than he lets on. Or he got spooked via some rough hit and now hears footsteps.
And it's no secret our defense has been a huge weakness. We've improved since Varly's been in net (as the guys seem to step up their game for him), and Schultz has been out hurt (Boudreau loves him and no one knows why). Poti's been playing well despite his groin that NEVER EVER HEALS, and Jurcina and Erskine have both become THE MAN(s) since the postseason. Especially Erskine.
But yeah, we're still in need of a few tougher guys in the back. Hopefully after this year we can patch that up, both by trades and some of the phenomenal talent we have down with da Bears. Question is: who goes and who stays? I'm all for Schultz getting the boot, but aside from that, I can't much say.

Ovechkin got death threats from a 17 year old Penguins fan from Pittsburgh on some forum. The police traced the post and talked to the kid. There were no charges. Just a slap on the wrist...for a death threat.
The posting on a hockey message board read: "I'm killing Ovechkin. I'll go to jail. I don't care anymore."
It probably wasn't serious, but still. There's just some thing you just shouldn't say...ever.

Man, the drama this series is causing is going way beyond what I was expecting.
And no, there are some things that one shouldn't say. Especially not in today's day and age where nutters are a dime a dozen. Can't ever tell if they're serious or not.
