The Visnovsky trade was probably the biggest one of the day, sadly. Good deal for Anaheim though.

Yeah it was pretty boring, no big names.
Here's the last minute trades:
-Carolina trades Stephane Yelle, Harrison Reed to Colorado for Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll and a 6th
-Blue Jackets trade Alex Picard to Phoenix for Chad Koralik
-Penguins acquire Andres Eriksson from Coyotes for Miika Wiikman and a 7th
-Coyotes acquire Pettri Nokelainen from the ducks for a 6th
-Flames trader Dustin Boyd to Nashville for a 4th
-Penguins trade Chris Peluso to Toronto for 6th
-Oilers trade Steve Staios to the Flames for Aaron Johnson and a 3rd
The latest trade I got was about 20 minutes ago, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were the last one.

recap of the day.
Nice to see Phoenix getting good players after what happen to then this summer.
I really like what the caps did toda, they got some good role players and they added some good players on D. Only question is there goalies going to hold up in the playoffs.
I also like what the flames did today too. They needed to get a back up and they did. Yes he is over paid of the back up role but still good trade. Also I really like the D men they pick up from the oilers. Also sad to see Boyd leave Calgary but will do good in Nashville. A winnipeg boy.
Overall I really like what the Caps and Phoenix did today. What do you guys think.

Caps and Penguins were the biggest winners in my opinion. Which is scary going into the playoffs.

If you can count pre-deadline acquisitions, Sens are one of the big winners too. New Jersey is an obvious one too with Kovalchuk. Phoenix got some quality too. Again with the pre-deadline stuff, Calgary would be a winner, especially after re-signing Stajan. Not to mention getting Toskala as a back-up.
Carolina has no defense anymore. Toronto has no more offense(not like they had any in the first place ;D)

Carolina got three 2nds, a 3rd, a 4th, I believe a 7th, and Osala (that I know of) all for expiring contracts. If that's not a winner, for an aging team looking to rebuild, I don't know what is.

Never said that they were a loser. But in terms of defense, they have barely anything left. For the future this is definitely a huge win for them. But with their strong play of late, there's always the possibility that they squeak in 8th. It's highly unlikely, but I'm not gonna count them out just yet. But if that does happen, they're going to regret it going into the play-offs (again, if they make it.)
