Here's the schedule for the games if you hadn't seen it yet: www.vancouver2010.com/olympic-hockey/The women's hockey begins on the 13th, while the men's begins on the 16th. Team Canada plays their first game on the 16th at 4:30PM against Norway. (That's Tuesday coming up) Thanks, I was just going to try and find the schedule. That sucks iff the game is at 4:30.

Most likely. I'm sure most of the big Canadian broadcasters will be showing the games, especially since they're in Canada and easily accessible.

Copying samk's post from the other thread: Big secrets or well kept secret as to which famous Canadian that will open/open ceremonies of lighting the official flame/cauldron. I think and hope it is the Great One that is chosen. I know his Father was carrier of the relay torch. I hope they don't choose as some rumours are: singer Sara McCaulghlin actress bimbette BC Pam Anderson crooner Michael Bubbles another Vancouverite rocker Bryan Adams I think Wayne makes the best choice - however, they could go with Rick Hansen. Even David Suzuki. Maybe the sentimental factor of Terry Fox's Mother. Then they could go with Trevor Linden or Joe Sakic or a former gold winner olympic medals athelete. Heck - I dunno. Do you ? I guess we will find out soon. Clock ticking down to a half hour to go........ Let the official games begin....... nhlhockeyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ih&action=display&thread=19

i'm thinking that Getzlaf is okay after getting 4 points last night againts the oilers. I'm happy that he is able to play on his ankle. Now we just need steve to say that he is on the team. I hope he makes the right choice.

Good news, same with Markov for Russia. He missed the Habs' last two games before the break, but apparently he's been cleared to play now.

So... The first of the men's games will start at three EST.
Being an American, I should be rooting for the US to win. But I don't know if they can go all the way. I see them hitting the medal round but falling short. Of course, one bad game is all that stands between a team reaching the medal round or going home early. And if you have a bad game in the medal round, kiss your chance at any color goodbye.
It's usually a crapshoot when it comes to which teams are getting medals. I can see a good number of teams actually medaling, but I don't know. The best thing that could happen is if it comes down to Canada and Russia.
I guess we'll just wait and see.

I actually think that the schedule I posted has Pacific Time, which means the game would start at 7:30. I'm so confused.
